This Mandrel Saver live centre is the easiest way to solve the problem of bending your pen mandrel shaft by over tightening the tailstock centre. The way this works is your mandrel shaft goes through the hollow centre of the mandrel saver so rather than putting pressure on the end of your mandrel the pressure is put directly onto the pen bushing.
